It wasn’t the worst defeat in the world with the national team putting in a good performance, especially in the first half, creating chances. The chance to finish top of the Nations League group is still in Scotland’s hands when they travel to Israel on Wednesday knowing a win will secure promotion to League A.
In turn, Scotland have now been confirmed as third seeds for World Cup qualification for Qatar 2022 with the Nations League acting as a possible back-up as it did for the Euros in terms of reaching the finals tournament.
