East Fife 2 - 0 Albion Rovers: East Fife secure victory with two late strikes
The Fifers best chance in the opening period was a Scott Dalziel header that just went past Derek Gaston’s goal and the Coatbridge men, who sprung a surprise by including former Clyde, Montrose and Dumbarton front man Roddy Hunter in their line up as a trialist, went close with a John Gemmell free- kick that was saved by Michael Brown.
The deadlock was broken 13 minutes from time when substitute Craig Johnstone headed into the path of Sloan and he sent a crisp shot home.

Rovers’ sub Paul Quinn came close to pulling a goal back with an injury time volley, but it cleared the bar to sum up a frustrating night for the visitors.
