Cycling: McCallum fails to replicate success in CiCLE
Riding for the Rapha Condor JLT squad in the gruelling event that features several off-road sections, the Scottish champion found the going tough as he finished in 29th spot, more than eight minutes down on his former team mate Ian Wilkinson, now riding for Team UK Youth, who became the first man to win the race twice.
McCallum was the leading Scot in an international field, more than two minutes ahead of David Lines and Gary Hand, who finished in the main bunch.

With a victory at the recent Perth Grand Prix stage race to her credit, Ewing was among the favourites for the women only Glasgow Wheelers Thomsons Cycles road race at Garelochhead.
She featured in a five-strong group that broke away late in the 35-mile race, although she was outsprinted by Julie Erskine of Granite City Wheelers and Jennifer Taylor of the Capital-based Equipe Velo Ecosse.
