Dundee remove John Brown ‘arab’ comments from site
‘Bomber’ Brown, who took charge at the club last week, made the remark in an interview with the official club website.
Responding to a question about the Dundee derby cup tie this weekend, Brown said: “I’m looking forward to it. I cannae stand the Arabs. That’s the bottom line, so I’m looking forward to it.”

Hide AdBrown then later sought to play down the comments. He said:”I have lots of respect for Dundee United. They have a lot of good players.
“But I’m Dundee — ask the fans what they think of the Arabs.”
ArabTRUST, the Dundee United supporters’ society, reacted with disappointment to Brown’s remarks.
Chairman Steven Hughes told The Courier: “It’s disappointing, but we look forward to going to Dens on Sunday and hope to have our place booked in the semi by 2.30pm.”
Dundee United fans have been known as Arabs ever since club directors, fighting against a cold winter spell, covered the Tannadice pitch in sand to make it playable.
Brown’s reign as Dundee manager began with an ignominious 5-0 defeat to Celtic.
