Interim president lined up to lead troubled Mali
The court’s announcement yesterday said that Dioncounda Traore will serve as Mali’s president for a maximum of 40 days to organise new elections. A ceremony is scheduled to take place tomorrow, officials said.
However, there is still uncertainty about who will lead Mali afterwards, with the junta leader saying he would decide on a new team along with West African regional bloc ECOWAS.
