West Lothian fails to meet FoI target
The local authority dealt with 84 per cent of queries within the 20 working days time limit in 2011/12, falling just short of its 85 per cent target.
But the council did improve its performance compared to previous years, with 76 per cent answered on time in 2010/11, and just 72 per cent in 2009/10.

Hide AdWest Lothian Council received 874 requests in the last financial year, which was a drop of 4.2 per cent compared to 2010/11. Of the requests, 49 were refused in full or in part, compared with 105 in the previous year.
Graeme Struthers, the council’s head of corporate services, said: “There has been significant improvement on the performance achieved in 2009/10 and 2010/11. The challenge now is to maintain this improved level of performance.”
