Summer is wettest for hundred years
SUMMER was been the wettest in England and Wales for 100 years, new figures show.
Weather forecasters MeteoGroup revealed 362mm of rain has fallen in June, July and August, making it the wettest summer since 1912.
Scotland had slightly less rain over the three months – at 357mm – which is more than average but far from the wettest on record.

Hide AdA Meteogroup spokesman said: “It was the wettest south of the Border but not in Scotland. There, rainfall was 67mm higher than is the average.
“As Scotland tends to be wetter than many other parts of the UK, this was by no means a record year for rain, although it was wetter than average.”
