Drivers warned as snow hits
Motorists have been urged to exercise caution after the cold front swept into Scotland today, bringing heavy snow and poor visibility.
A Met Office spokesman warned: “Obviously we would urge people to drive carefully, and check the weather conditions on their route before setting off, particularly those in the south of Edinburgh and the borders where the ground is a little higher.

However, the forecast for the rest of the week is set to improve slightly.
“Tomorrow should be drier and cloudy but still quite cold,” added the spokesman, “with temperatures becoming milder towards the end of the week.”
