Stroke help is required
A SPECIALIST service should be created for survivors of strokes to help them integrate back into society, a city charity has said.
The Stroke Association, based in Leith, said those who are recovering from the episode need more assistance with a variety of everyday elements.
Karen Irvine, the organisation's advocacy development consultant, said: "Of those who survive a stroke, at least half will experience physical, psychological or sensory impairments.
"There is an absolute need to have an advocacy service available to stroke survivors."
