Solar future for gas base
THE largest solar panel system in the country has been unveiled by Scottish Gas at its Edinburgh headquarters.
A total of 650 panels have been installed on the roof of the Granton building, covering 850 square metres.
It is hoped they will produce a quarter of the site's electricity needs and make an annual saving of 56 tonnes of carbon emissions.
Kevin Roxburgh, managing director of Scottish Gas, said: "Energy is getting more expensive as demand grows. We all need to get smarter about the way we use energy."
