Six charged over racist web posts
Six people have been charged in connection with anti-Semitic and racist posts allegedly left on a website.
Five men aged between 18 and 21 and a 15-year-old boy from Glasgow and East Renfrewshire were arrested and charged with a breach of the peace with religious and racial aggravations.
Strathclyde Police said they launched an inquiry after complaints from representatives of the Jewish community about a social networking site called “Welcome to Israel, only kidding you’re in Giffnock”.
The force said the site had attracted “a number of posts” which were anti-Semitic and racist in nature.
