He said: “We’re up in Scotland filming Trainspotting 2 just now.
“I think what I love most about what I do is the variety, and being able to do something new every day. I get to meet such amazing people all the time.”
“I think everyone’s fear is doing something a robot can do, and getting stuck doing something repetitive,” he added.
“I feel very fortunate and grateful to be able to make films, and to be able to always have a choice in what I do.
“Coming back to Edinburgh has actually been really fascinating, since filming the first Trainspotting. Edinburgh has changed dramatically.
“You can see the gentrification massively in the city.”
The post has already been liked by nearly 2,000 excited fans and shared by over 100 followers.
Ewan McGregor, Ewen Bremner, Jonny Lee Miller and Robert Carlyle are all officially on board for the follow-up to the 1996 classic film.

It was placed in the top 10 for the 100 Best British films of all time and in 2004 was voted the Best Scottish Film of all time in a general public poll by The List.
A follow-up book by Welsh is called Porno, and is based around the main characters getting involved in the porn industry.
No official name for the sequel has been announced but rumours have circulated that it may simply be called T2.
