Schools use sports to bring relief to world’s poorest
Youngsters of all ages will take part in a range of sports on March 23 to help some of the world’s poorest people.
Craigmount High is planning a 12-hour ‘sport-a-thon’ with pupils getting involved in five-a-side football, basketball, volleyball, dodgeball, badminton and short tennis. The school is also hosting a mini-carnival with various stalls.

Hide AdAt Redhall Primary in Longstone, students, teachers and parents will be running, hopping, skipping and jumping the whole distance of a marathon, by completing a set number of metres each.
And thanks to a campaign by Sport Relief and the Evening News, grassroots organisations are to benefit from a £50,000 cash fund. Grants of £500 to £1000 are being distributed to small groups in the Lothians which are working to help people living tough lives.
