Police thank public for arrests help
Officers cited the attack on 75-year-old community stalwart Evelyn Crawford as investigations where public information provided a vital breakthrough.
A 35-year-old man was charged following the assault on the pensioner in Groathill Road North on January 15.

Hide AdAmong the other highlighted cases were the arrest of a 22-year-old man charged with a robbery at Fauldhouse Community Development Trust on January 20, and a 22-year-old man charged in connection with an assault and robbery on a taxi driver in the Stenhouse area on January 26.
Detective Superintendent Lesley Boal said: “We have issued a number of appeals lately, and we are really grateful to the public for either coming forward with information, or assisting officers as they carry out local inquiries.
“As a result, a number of crimes have been solved, and people have appeared in court.
“We rely on the public to provide us with information.”
