Scottish Renewables is in discussions with a network of stakeholders including academics, environmental bodies and the government to review and update this tool, which was originally produced in 2008. By following good practice the carbon payment time can be minimised.

A moratorium on wind farm development on peat land, as suggested in the article, would in fact undermine Scotland's commitment to tackling climate change and jeopardise the security of Scotland's energy future.
