Karen Koren: May the Forth be with me next year
Being in London meant that I missed this year’s Forth Awards, which was a great pity, because I missed Grant Stott singing his new rendition of That’s Fife!... the Jimmy Shand version. I have now caught up with that performance on Youtube, which is a hoot.
I think Grant enjoys performing it and I understand that his great mate and panto co-star Andy Gray came up on stage and carried on alongside him. They are such ‘luvvies’, they love a good laugh and love performing together.

In the meantime, the boys are in the throes of rehearsing Mother Goose, which I can’t wait to see - always a good laugh, and with their fellow performer Alan Stewart. In panto terms, a threesome that’s hard to beat.
Anyway, after a successful London trip I took the train to the airport for my homeward journey. Imagine my surprise when I get to the airport and find that I had gone to the wrong one. Doh! No flights to Edinburgh from there.
I had to stay in a local hotel overnight in order to take the morning flight. I hate making these mistakes, because of course they are costly and you feel such an idiot. However, I resigned myself to my error only bemoaning the fact that I’d missed the Forth Awards... for one year only, I hope.
