Teen arrested after bomb squad called to '˜attempted robbery'

Firefighters and paramedics were also called to the scene at a commercial unit in Springhill Road at about 9.15pm on Monday.
Police said they were alerted to a suspected housebreaking but an explosives ordnance disposal (EOD) team were brought in when a suspicious package was found in the building.

Hide AdThe EOD unit was later stood down and a male was detained.
Police confirmed a 15-year-old boy has now been arrested over the incident.
The road is expected to be closed throughout Tuesday but there is no threat to the public, officers said.
A force spokesman said: “Officers along with the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service and Scottish Ambulance Service attended a suspected attempted housebreaking incident at a commercial premises in Springhill Road, Aberdeen.
“On arrival, police found an item located at the premises and as a result an EOD unit from Edinburgh was requested to attend.
“They have since stood down.
“A cordon is now in place in the immediate vicinity of the building and there is no threat to the public.”
