Man in custody after seven-hour stand-off at Highland hotel

Several police cars and two fire engines were sent to the Tarradale Hotel in Muir of Ord, Ross-shire, at around 2.15pm on Friday afternoon.
The vehicles surrounded the hotel while police dealt with a “disturbance” in the building which officers said “posed no risk to the public”.

Hide AdA police spokesman said at around 10.30pm on Friday a 37-year-old man had been taken into custody.
He said: “Officers would like to thank the local community of Muir of Ord for their patience following a police incident earlier today.
“A 37-year-old man is now in custody in relation to the incident, which was contained.”
