Killer loses court battle
AN ATTEMPT by “limbs-in-the-loch” killer William Beggs to win an interim court order against attempts by prison authorities to tackle a mountain of legal
papers in his cell has failed.
Beggs, 48, is serving a life sentence for the murder of 18-year-old Barry Wallace in 1999. His severed limbs were recovered from Loch Lomond and his head was found on Barassie Beach, near Troon.
Earlier this year, prison authorities at Glenochil jail, in Clackmannanshire, vowed to take action over accumulated legal paperwork in Beggs’s cell.
