Charity's thanks for £7,000 gift
THE head of children's charity Barnardo's Scotland thanked Scotsman readers yesterday for their generous donations over the Christmas period.
Martin Crewe, director of Barnardo's Scotland, said the week-long Christmas appeal in the newspaper raised more than 7,000 for disadvantaged youngsters, while elevating the profile of the charity's work.
Mr Crewe said: "Hundreds of readers from across the country have sent in donations and donated online.
"The Scotsman has helped to raise awareness of our work with the public."
