Scottish whisky distillery closes its visitor centre as a coronavirus precaution
Tomatin Distillery Visitor Centre in Inverness will be closed as of today for the foreseeable future.
Staff at the company made an announcement today saying the decision was made to protect the health and welfare of visitors and staff at the distillery.

Hide AdA statement online read: “Closure announcement: During a time of universal uncertainty surrounding COVID-19, we take the health and welfare of our visitors, staff and community very seriously.
“As a precautionary measure, the Tomatin Distillery Visitor Centre is termporarily closed, to all visitors, for the foreseeable future.
“Contact the Visitor Centre for more information on 01463 248 144.”
Numerous businesses and schools have closed and large events cancelled across the country as cases of the coronavirus spread.
Lanark Grammar School in Lanark has closed after an individual was tested positive and told to self-isolate. Another primary school in Glasgow closed for the rest of the week due to a visitor testing positive.
Nicola Sturgeon announced mass gatherings over 500 people should be cancelled as positive cases of the virus are on the rise.
The Scottish Government has announced a helpline is now available for Scottish business seeking advice about COVID-19.
