Energy Assets teams up with sector giant Elster
The Livingston-based group said Elster already plays a “major role” in its supply chain and the companies will now seek to develop meters that use light to deliver gas-usage readings.
So-called “absolute encoder” technology is widely used across the US and parts of mainland Europe, but Energy Assets said such meters have not been widely introduced in the UK yet.

Chief executive Phil Bellamy-Lee said: “Elster and Energy Assets have worked closely together for many years and both businesses recognise the merit of two market leaders joining forces to develop next-generation products and technologies for the future benefit of the UK industrial and commercial market.”
