Brick & Stone deal paves way for expansion
Broxburn-based wholesaler Brick & Stone – which lists Keyline, Jewson and Travis Perkins among its clients – sealed a £175,000 deal with Bank of Scotland to increase its stock of bricks from 300,000 to 500,000. The company also signed a £100,000 deal with Lloyds Commercial Finance to help it buy a truck.
Mark Findlay, managing director at Brick & Stone – pictured above left with Bank of Scotland’s Donald Lee – said of the firm, which has also supplied materials for Edinburgh’s Dean Gallery and the Water of Leith flood protection scheme in Stockbridge: “We have witnessed a real increase in momentum in the construction sector and the new facility will provide us with the means to bring our business to the next level.
“We have been hoping to expand our offering for a number of years and are looking forward to achieving this ambition in 2014.”
