Rod Stewart confirmed for Glasgow Hydro opening
Although there are events occuring at the venue before Stewart’s 30 September gig at the 12,000 seat venue, the rock legend is being billed as the venue’s ‘opening’ act.
Stewart has recorded 15 number one singles and albums, including his new LP ‘Time’, and has sold over 150 million records throughout his four-decade career.

Hide AdStewart accidentally told an STV reporter in November that he would be playing the new venue, months before any official announcement.
He said: “I’m looking forward to playing the Hydro, it’s going to be fantastic. I had a look around the building and it’s wonderful.”
The venue is projected to host over one million visitors every year, which would make it the fifth busiest arena in the world. Fleetwood Mac, The Proclaimers and Black Sabbath are among the artists already booked to play the venue.
Tickets for the gig go on sale this Friday at 9am, with prices starting at £60.
