JK Rowling pens Scottish rugby Harry Potter story
The tale of wizard-turned-rugby player Angus Buchanan, told on Rowling’s Pottermore website, draws links between the national side and the world of the best-selling books.
In the tale, Buchanan’s success in the ‘muggle’ sport brings wizards and mortals closer together, with Scotland the de facto national side of the wizarding community.

Hide AdRowling singles out Stuart Hogg, Kelly Brown and Jim Hamilton as possible links between the two worlds.
Hamilton in particular is noted for a “strong resemblance to Hagrid”, the half-giant played in the Harry Potter films by Scottish actor Robbie Coltrane.
