Brian Cox opens Dundee Myths and Monsters exhibition
The exhibition, Myths and Monsters, is being staged at the Dundee Science Centre after a run at the Natural History Museum in London,
A spokeswoman for the science centre said: “Visitors experience a breathtaking journey from ancient times, when legends of bizarre beasts first became embedded in different cultures, through to the present day when science has often unravelled fact from fiction.

Hide Ad“The new exhibition explores everything from the Cyclops, unicorn and yeti, to the dragon, chimera and Loch Ness monster. The exhibition highlights are giant moving models, set against a dramatic backdrop, each with their own chilling sound effects. Visitors experience a breathtaking journey from ancient times, when legends of bizarre beasts first became embedded in different cultures, through to the present day when science has often unravelled fact from fiction.”
She added: “Created with museum zoologists, Myths and Monsters explores popular myths and legends from ancient history, Greek mythology and storytelling. With a display of impressive and astonishing large-scale animatronic models, intriguing specimens and incredible graphics, this exhibition will truly bring legends to life.”
