Third Division: Berwick stay on top with victory at Queen's Park

Berwick are still on top of the Third Division after a 2-0 win over Queen's Park at Hampden.

The Black and Gold side took the lead just before the half hour mark when Darren Gribben slotted home a penalty after he had been fouled by Jamie Brough

Gribben beat the home side's offside trap before squaring to the unmarked Craig O'Reilly to net for Berwick's second just 7 minutes into the second half.

Annan kept their unbeaten start to the league going by coming from behind to draw 1-1 at Montrose. Paul Tosh fired the Links Park men ahead from the penalty spot after 16 minutes but the points where shared when Bryan Gilfillan headed home David Cox corner midway through the second period.

Stranraer made the 575-mile round trip to Elgin worthwhile as they came back with a 2-1 win. Romauld Bouadji fired the Blues ahead before half-time with Craig Malcolm scoring for a fourth game in a row to make it two with 20 minutes left. Paul Millar headed in a consolation.

Albion Rovers took the points with a 2-1 win in their first ever meeting with Clyde at Broadwood with the Coatbridge side taking the lead from Tony Stevenson's penalty.

The home side drew level eight minutes from half-time when a Kevin Finlayson shot was deflected high into the air and Bryan Dingwall hooked the ball over his shoulder from eight yards out for his first senior goal.

The second-half was a niggly affair and former Rover Marc McCusker was sent off eight minutes from time when he received his second yellow card for a challenge from behind on Michael McGowan.

Albion made the extra man pay in the final minute as substitute John Gemmell fired over a low cross for Robert Love to side-foot home from six yards out.

Arbroath won for the first time in three games when they saw off East Stirling 2-0 with Gavin Swankie and David McGowan on the scoresheet.
