Judo: Britain draw a blank in European medal quest
Scotland's Euan Burton, ranked No 4 in the world at under-81kgs half middleweight, could not get past Jaromir Musil of the Czech Republic in his opening bout. Bath's Tom Reed lost to Russian Sirazhudin Magomedov.
Olympian Sarah Clark, from Edinburgh, and Harlow's Faith Pitman both also lost their opening-round fights in the under-63kg, as did Gemma Gibbons and Wokingham youngster Megan Fletcher in the middleweights.

Hide AdCamberley fighter Daniel Williams did score a victory in the men's lightweight under-73kgs, but could not then get through to the pool finals, while Owen Livesey was another first-round casualty. Today sees the final day of individual competition. James Austin will fight in the under-100kgs and fellow Scot Chris Sherrington in the heavyweights. Edinburgh's Sarah Adlington will fight in the women's over-78kgs.
