Hockey: Kelburne thump Inverleith to win Scottish Cup

INVERLEITH failed to break a 35-year trophy hoodoo, losing 5-0 to Kelburne in the final of the men's Arthur McKay Scottish Cup final.

It was a cruel opening for the Edinburgh side when Derek Salmond turned the ball past his own keeper Barnaby Barbour. Kelburne went two up several minutes later, when a cross from Josh Cairns was touched round the keeper by Ross Stott.

The contest was killed off when a Chris Nelson cross was slotted home by Alan Forsyth and within a minute Mark Ralph made it four from the spot. Ralph made it five with a trademark drag flick from a penalty corner.
