PRIOR TO last night's match between Chelsea and Tottenham at Stamford Bridge, Spurs knew anything less than a win would hand the title to Leicester.

A goal from Eden Hazard eight minutes from time secured a point for Chelsea but, more importantly, a maiden league title for the Foxes.

TV footage showed Leicester fans congregating outside Jamie Vardy’s house; celebrating in pubs, in Leicester city centre and all over the world, in fact.

Tottenham had come close to pegging Leicester back, but dropped points against West Bromwich Albion and against Chelsea - after being 2-0 up at half time - in their own title bid.

So it was particularly cruel that a US sports anchor on the ESPN channel showed footage of Leicester fans celebrating after Chelsea’s equaliser with the voice over: “You talk about improbable - this was the reaction today when Tottenham won the EPL - Darren Rovell will have reaction from all over as Tottenham wins the EPL...”
