Highland League: Moore fortune favours Forres

MATCHWINNER Scott Moore was in a state of disbelief after Buckie Thistle goalkeeper Kevin Main gifted ten-man Forres Mechanics a massive title boost with a rare blunder in their 2-1 win.

“I was delighted – I just couldn’t believe my luck,” said Moore. It proved a tale of two goalkeepers as the Forres shotstopper Stuart Knight earned a foolish red card after only 27 minutes. They battled on with Kyle Scott’s opener to protect but Buckie’s Hamish Munro levelled four minutes from the break. Forres triumphed against the reigning champions as Moore’s fine strike after 68 minutes proved decisive when Main fumbled to gift the winner.

Victory gave Forres a four-point lead at the top, with nearest challengers Cove Rangers suffering a damaging 1-1 draw at Wick.
