Boxing: Josh Taylor excels as Brits revel in gold rush
Taylor scored a 13-0 win over Anthony Yigit of Sweden and, along with England’s Martin Ward and Sean McGoldrick from Wales, ensured all three home nations went home with gold.
Repton lightweight Ward produced a classy 10-5 victory over Eugen Burhard of Germany and bantamweight McGoldrick - gold medallist at the 2010 Commonwealth Games - beat Worapoj Petchkoom of Thailand 14-10. GB’s six-medal haul was completed by Wales’ Fred Evans, who was third in the welterweight category.
