Boxing: McEwan poised to fight on undercard of Mayweather bill

ALTHOUGH Capital middleweight Craig McEwan has now firmly resumed his residence again in his hometown, the winner of 19 out of 20 ring battles in the USA has revealed that local boxing fans will have a long wait to see him in action again in Scotland.

McEwan is poised to fight on the undercard of the Floyd Mayweather v Victor Ortega world welterweight title clash in Las Vegas on September 17 and admitted: "Because of contractual reasons which tie me to Golden Boy promotions in Los Angeles for another 12 months, I will be fighting over there.

"My next scheduled fight will be in Las Vegas in September after learning both Golden Boy and American TV channel HBO want me to box ten rounds against a selected opponent on the undercard of the Mayweather v Ortega clash.
