FORMER archbishop Desmond Tutu’s home was robbed while he was away at the Mandela memorial.

South African police said the break-in at Tutu’s home in Cape Town happened between 7 and 9pm on Tuesday, the same day he spoke at the memorial service 800 miles away in Johannesburg.

A police statement said: “At this stage, we cannot give further details, as the investigation into the matter is still ongoing. No arrests have been made as yet.”

The 82-year-old was also burgled at home August as he and his wife slept inside. Both were unhurt.
