Police officer dies in crash

Wiltshire: A police officer died after his vehicle left the road and crashed, police said today.

He was driving along Westwood Road towards Trowbridge, at around 8pm yesterday when he apparently lost control on a left-hand bend and veered off the road.

A force spokesman said: "Sadly, the officer driving was pronounced dead at the scene."

East Sussex: Police were working today to identify a body found after a worker spotted blood dripping from the ceiling of his office.

The corpse was discovered in a flat above the firm of architects in Seaford.
