Firefighters rescue man from River Tay

The team entered the river at Queen’s Bridge on Wednesday morning and brought the man to safety.
The Scottish Fire and Rescue Service crew waded into the water from the riverbank and swam to the casualty after police officers threw him a line from the bridge above.

Hide AdA Fire Service spokesman said: “He was quickly saved from the water by the firefighters and immediately passed to the care of ambulance personnel.
“The emergency services’ operation followed a call made around 9:55am, which reported a man was in the water and being swept towards Queen’s Bridge from the North Muirton area of the city.
“Three crews from Perth Fire Station were sent to the scene in two fire engines and a specialist technical rescue vehicle.”
