Rescue teams find man’s body in river

The body of a man has been recovered from a river.

Police, coastguard, firefighters, mountain rescue teams and the RAF were sent to rescue Anthony Winton, 25, from the Glasgow area, who had fallen into the River Leven, at Kinlochleven, Lochaber, at about 1:30am yesterday.

His body was recovered from the river just over ten hours later following an extensive search.

The coastguard was also sent to hunt for a man who fell out of a capsized rowing boat off the coast of the Isle of Arran.

Clyde Coastguard received a 999 call at about 9:20am yesterday reporting the incident in Brodick Bay. The man managed to swim ashore before rescue teams arrived.
