SNP councillors burn Smith Commission report
The Renfrewshire councillors Brian Lawson, Will Mylet and Mags MacLaren captured themselves burning the report outside the local authority’s headquarters in Paisley.

Hide AdHe says: “The Smith Commission report: this is exactly what we think about it. No real powers for Scotland yet again from Westminster.”

Then, in a reference to former prime minister Gordon Brown’s role in bringing the Westminster party leaders together before September’s referendum vote in a “vow” for further devolution, he adds: “We’ve been lied to again. There you go, Gordon Brown.”
Mr Lawson, a former council leader, then says: “Happy St Andrew’s Day.”
In response, Labour’s Shadow Scottish Secretary Margaret Curran MP, said: “The SNP will never be satisfied with anything less than independence and these SNP councillors are showing their party’s true feelings. Nicola Sturgeon and these councillors should apologise for this crass stunt.”
An SNP spokeswoman said: “These kinds of acts do not have a part to play in moving the debate forward.
“This has been made perfectly clear to those involved, who realise their error and removed the video once this was raised with them.”
