The Royal Horticultural Society wants gardening lessons in schools. The Law Society of Scotland wants to see the teaching of law in our secondary schools. Next week, I expect a spokesperson for some other vested interest will come up with another “must have” addition to the curriculum. Why don’t we just bite the bullet and open the schools on Saturdays and Sundays too? More overtime pay for the jannies, and anyway kids don’t need two whole days off every week, do they?
