Letter: Secular Scotland
I've not forgotten the pledge of Brian Souter, the SNP's main backer, to install candidates backing so-called "family values" in every constituency during his notorious "Keep the Clause" campaign.
With Alex Salmond driven by his faith, why should I not be surprised to see the misguided SNP outdoing Labour with a surfeit of religious candidates?
In Glasgow alone the SNP managed to produce a member of the controversial Catholic sect, Opus Dei, for Glasgow North East; a Baptist for Glasgow East and a Muslim for Glasgow Central. Scotland is secular.
Any party that ignores Scotland's modern indifference to religion does so at its peril.
