Double jeopardy

How nice that Alistair Darling and Gordon Brown are best buddies again (your report, 19 August).

It must be cathartic for them to reminisce not only on their past feuds, but also on their roles as disastrous New Labour chancellors in contributing to the dire economic state the UK now finds itself in.

I’m pretty sure the people in Gordon Brown’s constituency of Kirkcaldy and Cowdenbeath will also be interested to learn that he has “come out of semi-retirement” to fight for the unionist cause.

As a sitting MP he should
surely be working full-time in representing their needs at both local and national levels.

The sooner we get a Yes vote and be rid of them the better.
