Housing plan in next phase

THE SECOND phase of West Lothian Council's new build housing programme is under way.

The local authority has already built 248 houses as part of the first phase of its programme. They were the first council houses to be built in West Lothian in 25 years.

The second phase will result in a further 545 homes being built over eight different sites in Armadale, Bathgate, Blackburn, Livingston, Uphall Station and Whitburn.

Local businesses in the area have been signed up to help carry out the construction work.
