Wintry weather is expected on Boxing Day

MOTORISTS have been warned of possible travel disruption as a cold snap descends on Scotland in the run-up to New Year.

Forecasters said tomorrow and Sunday would be “bitterly cold” with wintry showers and low temperatures continuing into next week.

Transport Scotland warned people to be prepared for some travel disruption as a result of the bad weather.

A spokesman said: “Bridges could be affected by high winds and driving conditions could be challenging in some areas.”
