Bald truth is I'm not brave

A MODEST Gail Porter today denied she was brave despite having lost her hair to stress-related alopecia.

The Portobello-born TV presenter said her nomination for a bravery award was "completely insane".

Miss Porter, 35, was put forward for a gong by a women's magazine.

She said today: "They had me up against Kylie and people who survived the 7/7 bombings.

"Losing your hair hardly compares to having breast cancer and surviving a bombing.

"I have alopecia and I've accepted it. Sometimes I even dream that I've got hair, and then wake up and find I haven't."

She is to discuss her baldness on BBC1's One Life programme next week.
