Gym firm's Pure dead brilliant plans

LOW-cost fitness operator Pure Gym has secured a site in Edinburgh's Ocean Terminal shopping centre as it readies itself for an upturn in the local residential market and the redevelopment of the city's waterfront.

The Leeds-based company has taken a 15-year lease from landlord Forth Ports. Ocean Terminal is the third opening in Scotland in 12 months, following sites in Edinburgh's Quartermile and Bath Street in Glasgow. The firm also plans to open a gym at Aberdeen's City Wharf. Established in 2009, Pure Gym now has 14 clubs across the UK.
