On this day on October 28, 1562, the Scottish clan Battle of Corrichie was fought near Aberdeen.

The Earl of Moray defeated Catholic Gordons of Huntly who, lead by cheief George Gordon, 4th Earl of Huntly, were attacking Aberdeen.

After the battle, Huntly’s eldest son Sir John Gordon was taken to Aberdeen and executed three days later.
